Piccolo Duo di Corde is a pair of large scale interactive sculptures: Primo Violino and Secondo Violino. The instruments stand 11 feet long by 4 feet wide and stand upright, allowing participants to play their interactive harps. Interrupting the sensors prompts music to be played on internal speakers and the notes are transformed into light patterns along their dynamic LED strings. Both instruments also feature painted mural facades curated by collaborating nonprofit Alberta Art Works.
Sponsored in part by grants from Ignition Northwest, the Multnomah County Cultural Coalition, the Oregon Country Fair and the Oregon Cultural Trust.
